A new air conditioning system is a significant investment for your Ellicott City home, and if your current system is still operating, it may be tempting to continue using it and repairing it as necessary. An older system, however, is typically far less efficient than the latest cooling systems, and as operating costs add up, it may become more cost-effective to replace it.
When that time comes, you can count on our team at Buric Heating and Air Conditioning for help throughout the replacement process, from removing the old air conditioner, to sizing and installing the new one. With over 15 years of service in the Ellicott City area, you can be sure the job will be done correctly the first time.

In conventional central air systems, the air handler connects to ductwork and is often integrated with the heating system. Heat pumps are similar to a central air system, but can be reversed to provide heating in the winter. Ductless mini splits feature an outdoor unit, plus one or more air handlers for each room with independent temperature controls. Some ductless systems provide both heating and cooling.

If your home has ducts already, either a central AC or a heat pump will work well. For new additions or homes without air ducts, a mini split is far easier to install—but we can also install air ducts in your home if you need them. If you need both heat and air conditioning, a heat pump or a ductless system may be appropriate.
To find the most efficient air conditioner, choose a system with a higher SEER, or seasonal energy efficiency ratio. The best models have a SEER of 20 or higher. For the best heating performance, choose a system with an HSPF of 8 or above.
